About Me
My name is Debbie and I am 49 years old. I was born and raised in Ireland but just after my university degree in languages and literature I decided to move to Italy where I started teaching English. This soon turned into a full-time job teaching children from the ages of 3 up ,and I suppose this is where it all started.
While I was teaching these little people how to speak my language in a fun way, they were (re-)teaching me what it was like to be a child again: their imagination, their little worries , their insecurities, their ability and inability to be happy for another person, their achievements, what they think is great and what they think is not great, what makes them really cry and what makes them really happy, and how a smile and some positive energy is the only thing that they always understand. The list could go on.
In 2010, I became a very happy mum to a very special little girl called Sheona who enhanced my knowledge of how children learn new things, only this time in two different languages as I spoke English at home but at school there was only Italian.
As a teacher I was extremely interested in this learning process as this could really help with my own job. After having watched some English cartoons with my little girl I realised that rhyming was the key to learning , no matter what the nationality. So I created Mrs. Mouse.
